About ARPA Australian Capital TerritoryARPA ACT, the Australian Capital Territory branch of the Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association (ARPA), is the only organisation in the ACT specifically established to represent the interests of the Approved Rehabilitation Providers (ARP) in the ACT. ARPA ACT was originally incorporated in March 1986 under the name ARPS, with the name changed to ARPA ACT in 2005 when it became a member of ARPA National. This national body was incorporated in the ACT and has it headquarters here. ARPS membership consists of vocational rehabilitation provider organisations and individuals registered to provide services for Comcare Australia and/or ACT WorkCover (along with other compensation schemes including CTP, Military Compensation, Defence and Income Protection) It is estimated that the ARP-ACT membership accounts for at least 95% of the work performed within the ACT compensation schemes. Membership includes small, medium and large sized rehabilitation providers that are private, Government and insurer owned entities. ARPA ACT and its members believe that appropriate rehabilitation intervention is key to the achievement of cost effective and durable return to work outcomes for injured individuals, whether this is with the pre-injury employer or a new employer. ARPA ACT is recognised as the peak industry body by both Comcare and Workcover compensation authorities, and has representatives on ACT WorkCover standing committees.
